Keep the End in Mind

Updated: May 20, 2020

We’re facing challenges right now, but we know that the end will come one day. Are you going to be ready when we’re on the other side of this pandemic? We need to be prepared for how things may look and feel different, and be able to operate in what may be a different workplace structure, job search process, and worldview.

Ask yourself:

  • What is your workplace going to look like when you get back to it?

  • What did you do during this time to be more productive?

  • How did you handle working from home?

  • Did you strengthen your resume or interview skills?

That’s why it’s so important to stay focused, intentional, and purposeful as we plow through working from home. Don’t let your career vision from before this pandemic fade into the background. It’s crucial to stay intentional and focused.

Stay productive. Don’t get caught up in the buzz of working from home, then come back to the office and find that we’ve lost sight of our projects or missed opportunities because we weren’t being intentional. Don’t slack off or drift if you can help it! Try and power through the urge to slack off, I know there are a lot more distractions at home.

I find it helpful to remember that the end goal is to re-emerge into the workplace, so I encourage you to keep the end in mind when you’re planning your day-to-day. When this ends, you want to be one of the prepared ones who used their time wisely when you get back in the office so that you can pick back up right where you left off.

Yes, after this is over, the world will be different. We all will need to adapt to life in a post COVID-19 world, because everything will be different. But the key is that if you keep moving, you’ll be different too.

Do the work, and you’ll be ready and prepared to meet a changed world when you get back to it. So stay focused, stay positive. Move on your vision, keep your energy up, and keep the end in mind. Because it will end. I promise.
